2-7 Triple Draw Poker

2-7 (Deuce to Seven) Triple Draw is another lowball poker game (the lowest poker hand wins the pot). 2-7 Triple Draw is a "draw" game, meaning that you are dealt five cards, and may swap anywhere from zero to all five cards for replacement cards from the deck. The "Triple Draw" name comes from the fact that each player can draw three times, although there is no requirement to do so on any of the draws. In 2-7 Triple Draw aces are always high so the best possible hand is: 7, 5, 4, 3, 2. and the worst hand is J, 7, 4, 3, 2 (where all are the same suit).

Like all draw games, 2-7 Triple Draw is played with blinds (mandatory bets before the cards are dealt). Each player is dealt five hole cards and players have the option to fold, call, or raise. After the first round of betting, there is a draw where players can select which (if any) cards he wishes to discard. After this first draw, there is another round of betting, followed by two more draws, each with a further round of betting, resulting in a total of three draws, and four rounds of betting.

In draw games like 2-7 Triple Draw, if more cards to be needed than remain in the deck, the cards are reshuffled and play continues. The player with the best (lowest) five-card hand wins the pot. If two or more hands have the same value, the pot is split. In 2-7, unlike other lowball games, an ace is always the highest card. 2-7 Triple Draw online poker sites are actually few and far between, surprisingly the only big poker sites which seem to offer 2-7 Triple Draw are Ultimate Bet and Full Tilt Poker.
